ACTING WITH PURPOSE

 

 

WHAT

A workshop that focuses on your roots. Your opinions. On why you act, sing, dance, perform. On how you want your work to affect the audience. No technique, no theory. Just digging until you find your roots. The ones that will make you unstoppable!

 

 

WHY

From a very young age, our education system teaches us to : follow, listen, do what others say and learn from people who "have authority". All to be "well behaved" and controlled... With this mold for a start, it is rare to come across people who stand on their own feet, too busy trying to fit whatever they imagine is expected of them. In any artistic expression or performance art, it is however crucial to be different or unique. Casting directors don't look for clones. They look for something they haven't seen before...

 

 

HOW

You will dig for and un-root your core values and purpose:

-Physically and emotionally 

-Through written, conversational and other coaching exercises

The goal is ultimately to be able to perform totally abandoned to the moment, keeping your eyes on the ball ( purpose).

Bring a 2 min monologue that you would LOVE to explore but have never worked on before and don't prepare it or learn it.

Actors, singers, individuals. 15 participants max.
