Should an actor always be training?

I recently received a question from one of the actors in my Instinctive Actors’ Society. It went something like this…

"As an actor, should one always be training?"

It’s such a great question that I wanted us to explore it together.

As an actor, it seems like there is always a new class you’re told you “just have to take” or a new mentor you gotta meet because their method might be the right method. And it takes so much time + energy and money to continuously train, right?!

It can feel like an obligation to always be in a class.

So, I hosted a LIVE training session and Q&A to take a closer look at whether that is actually true - should an actor always be training? The video is normally just for members of my private online community, but today, I’m sharing it with you.

Here are a few highlights we covered:

  • How to determine when you need to take classes versus when you can self-train

  • Why actors feel like there is something that needs to be “fixed”

  • What is your real power and how to train that instead!

So, if classes have been feeling more like an obligation lately, or you’ve been questioning whether continuously training is the right action for you to take, this video is for you. Check it out below.

Tell me what you think in the comments. Ask. Share. Complain. And let’s open the debate, so we can go deeper together.

Wondering how to get YOUR question answered? It's easy!
