What If the Problem Isn’t You — But Everything You Were Taught?

I Just Came Back From a Retreat… and Found Myself Questioning Everything Again
I was driving back with three other participants.
We started talking about the gift economy we’ve been living inside for the past year and something in me became very clear, very simple:
What if life isn’t supposed to feel this hard?
Not because something is wrong with us.
But because we’ve learned to live inside a structure that asks us to constantly prove, earn, and protect.
We’ve been trained to relate through transaction instead of trust.
The more we spoke, the more obvious it felt.
If we all moved out of that way of relating — even a little — many of the struggles we think are inevitable might simply dissolve.
Not because the world becomes perfect.
But because we stop organizing life around fear and control.
This isn’t about men or women.
It’s not about flipping power.
It’s about remembering how nature works.
Nature doesn’t dominate.
It doesn’t hoard.
It doesn’t perform worth.
It flows.
It gives.
It stays in relationship.
The trees give.
The bees give.
Your own body gives to you, constantly, without asking you to deserve it.
Somewhere along the way we learned to override that intelligence.
We were taught to control instead of feel.
To compete instead of connect.
To suppress parts of ourselves to function in systems that forgot we are alive.
And then we wonder why we feel disconnected.
For me, moving into the gift economy is part of undoing that conditioning.
It’s a practice of trusting again.
Trusting that we can share.
Trusting that we can meet as equals.
Trusting our humanity — all of it.
The sadness.
The joy.
The fear.
The aliveness.
All of that is our human technology.
When we allow it, something softens.
We stop performing life and start experiencing it.
This doesn’t create a world without conflict.
It creates a world where we are real with each other.
Where nothing inside us needs to be colonized or suppressed.
Where we can move, respond, and grow from truth instead of pressure.
This is what we are exploring inside our community.
Not as an idea.
As a lived experience.
Spaces where you can decondition.
Reconnect with instinct.
Remember what it feels like to be fully human — and to create, relate, and live from there.

Meet your feelings without trying to fix them.
Reconnect with your instinct and presence.
Experience the relief of not needing to improve, but simply to be.
This is pay-what-you-can, truly. We operate inside a gift economy, allowing you to join at the level that honors both your reality and this work.
