I hear a lot of actors at all levels in their career complain about their agent. Many actors are unhappy with the relationship with their agent. They feel annoyed or hopeless because their agent is the gateway to getting the work you want.
When we tackle the root cause of this problem we can fix it:
It all boils down to you’re SETTLING FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU WANT.
When you watch my training below you will discover that at the beginning of this relationship, you might decide to work with an agent even if you don’t feel it’s the right relationship because maybe you think you’re not worth more. The marketing materials you share with them isn’t your “best” and you carry that “not-good-enough” presence with you.
But actually, you can control your presence and your instrument in your materials. If you have a free, instinctive instrument that matches your headshots and reel, that will match the type of agent you want. If your instrument is tied-up, restricted, and can’t open up when a director calls “ACTION”, its reflected in all your marketing and in your agent meetings.
In an other case, you’re already in a relationship with your agent, it’s not working and yet you stay. So why aren’t you having this conversation with them?
In this career, you’re always working with people: on-set (the director, other crew, actors, etc) and off-set (your agent, manager, publicist, etc). With a free, open instrument you can deal with people authentically and in-the-moment. The work to free your instrument has to be done.
If it’s not, then you’re not really present and the people you’re working with aren’t seeing you.
