When you have an audition, you might feel that you want to work with someone that could see your work, help you make your choices and tell you what to do so you make sure you do the “right” thing. You may also have tried that because you still may not feel completely open and free as an actor in spite of having done so many acting classes.
However, when you feel you need an acting coach to be with you and make your own choices, it means you’re giving up on you and your capacity to be connected with yourself and hear your truth and freedom. You’re handing over your power to them instead. If every time you have a self tape, you feel you need a coach, it means you’re not relying on yourself. It means you’re trusting an external authority to know better than yourself and tell you what to do.
When you watch my training you'll discover that this doesn’t work in art. As an artist, people are interested in you connecting with your own humanity, your own specific choices and how the material impacts your instrument. You're the human piece of the puzzle on set. So if you're not really bringing your full human, unique, extraordinarily free and authentic human in the tape, in the audition room or on set, but you're bringing someone else's perspective on how the scene should be done; you are not really bringing the full thing. It’s not fulfilling for you and it’s not impactful for an audience.

But you’ve been conditioned not to trust yourself, but an external authority instead. So the work to do is to undo that conditioning so you can get to the core of who you really are. Then, you’ll know what choice to make and won’t need any external authority to tell you what’s “right” or “wrong” because you’ll feel it, you’ll be connected to you.
