You may want to start an acting career and feel really overwhelmed before you actually start it about everything you think you have to do: learning how to act from the best acting schools, getting some headshots and a reel, getting an agent and finding a job so you can take your classes. However, the trap is to start looking into the industry right away, feel that you need to learn from the best acting teachers and think that you should do all the business side of acting in a certain way in order to start your career.
Acting is the art of being fully alive in your own, unique way. It has to do with you being 100% YOU and with your capacity to be in the moment. However, if you are unable to show up completely YOU, no matter how many auditions you get, how many headshots you take, how many agents you meet or how many classes you take; nothing is going to happen since you’re not there. And even if you happen to book, you won’t be fulfilled, since you won’t be there.
When you watch my training below you will discover that being completely YOU has nothing to do with looking good, being confident or doing the scene “right”.. It has to do with your capacity to be completely authentic, unique, free, instinctive and present to whatever you have going on in the moment, no matter the circumstances or pressure around you. And this is exactly what the industry is looking for. When you are able to show up that way, then all doors open because everyone wants to work with you. So it’s definitely not about working hard, being better than others or doing all the things that others tell you to do. So if you want to start your acting career, move away from all those recipes that tell you how to do it. In art, there’s no formula.
So the work to do is to undo all that conditioning that prevents you from being that free and instinctive self that you were when you were a child. Then, you’ll be present, in your body, unique and will be able to fully express yourself and connect with your purpose as an artist. Then, people will want to work with you.
