As Actors, you may think that the way to have power over your career is to do all of the things that you’re supposed to do: Get your headshots and reel done, take all those workshops with those Acting Teachers, Casting Directors and find an Agent. Only then, you will have a career.
However, in our community, we do the opposite. We say that you get your power back when you get to your truth, freedom, instinct and real self, which is sitting under your conditioned self. You were born in a context, where authority told you what to do. In other words, you were conditioned to think, feel and behave a certain way.
You probably got a lot of “NOs” on who you are. You were trained out of your instinct, truth and freedom. That leaves you in a very disempowered place, since you are not plugged into your own self. Instead, you are plugged into what others want. Therefore, you are always under a certain authority that tells you what to do. You are not your own authority. There is no power here.
When you watch my training below you will discover that your power is your capacity to be embodied in your own body, heart and soul. To really BE YOU! As an Artist, your genius lies in your capacity to be yourself and be with that freedom, truth and instinct.
Right now, you are showing up in your career from a conditioned and powerless place. That is not you. The work to do is to reset your instrument and undo that conditioning so you can go back to your power and into who you really are. Then you will be able to show up completely truthful, free and unique in your reels, headshots, networking, auditions and content. Then people will be able to see and experience YOU.
That's how you have power over your career. Your career is only going to be the result of you being able to show up 100% YOU.
