Are You Disconnected From Your Acting Career?

You may feel disillusioned because you may not be getting work as an actor or, at least, the type of work that you want after having invested a lot of money, time and passion in your career. Or maybe you have a lot of credits, book work all the time and yet you may feel disconnected because your career is not providing you with the fulfillment you were hoping for when you started. That can be definitely frustrating too.

In both cases you may feel so much pain and resentment that you may have thought of finding a different job or even quitting. You may have also tried more acting classes or new methods and techniques to give yourself a last chance. And yet, you may still feel unfulfilled afterwards.

When you watch my training below you'll discover that what is usually happening in both cases is that you may have entered acting with the desire of getting external recognition, validation, worth and love. You may want to be good at it, famous or successful. However, when you get into acting from that hungry perspective to fill your void and expect an external source to fill you up, you may end up being disappointed since you expect fulfillment to come from the outside. All these things can just satisfy your ego’s needs.

On the contrary, acting is all about serving others and showing up for the story and your character’s needs. If you feel disconnected, this is a perfect opportunity for you to realize that you’ve come to your career as a consumer rather than as a provider. And the second you do that, you give away your power, you assume that there’s something inside of you that needs to be improved or fixed and you become dependent on something exterior to you.

But you are already a finished product. You are already present, free and truthful. However, since you were a child, you were conditioned to conform, please other people and behave in a way that worked for others, not for you. Inevitably, you moved away from your true and free self. Therefore, the work to do is to dig into yourself and undo that conditioning so you can reclaim your freedom, presence and authenticity.

Watch my training to hear all my thoughts on this topic.
