Why do you want to be a confident actor?

A lot of actors want to be confident because they feel if they had it, then everything would be okay. 🆗

Why do you want confidence? What’s a better way of going about it? 🤔

Understandably actors want to be confident about their career. You want to feel good and secure that everything will work out for you. You want to be confident when you’re shooting, auditioning or networking.

Mostly, you want to be confident because you’re committed artists who want to do a good job. 🎬 You think being confident will help your artistry. 🎭 Actors equate experiencing pain when they work to a lack of confidence. You want to experience the pleasure of acting, not the pain, panic or anxiety. 😩

I get it.

But I want actors to understand the reason that you feel discomfort when you act is because you’re trying to be confident. 😮 😮 😮

Going deeper…

When you watch my training you'll discover that the reason why you're trying to feel confident is because you’ve been raised to feel strong, to feel confident, to repress your emotions. It’s all ego-related.

An actor trying to be confident is really taking care of their own ego and by doing that they’re letting go of their character’s desires. This has nothing to do with your job description! Your job is to make yourself available to the character so they get what they want.. You end up being inauthentic. You’re pretending. You’re trying to look good and be right. You’re trying to sell like a used car salesman.

Casting directors can see that. 👀

What’s better than confidence? Being present. This means you’re present with everything you feel. You’re alive, open and available for your character’s needs. You’re in the moment. Your presence can be given to the character. 🎯

The way forward is to work on the resistance and old wiring to get you back to your real, true authentic self. What’s lying dormant under your conditioning is a freedom that’s waiting to come out! 🆓 🆓 🆓
